mutterseelenallein
The starting point for Eva Baumann's solo is a text she wrote prior to the creation of the piece. This text is about the memory of being unloved - literally mutterseelenallein means being all alone like being left by your mother. The theme is emphasised by the stage design: a collection of plaster masks which were contributed by seventy volunteers anonymously. The choreographer shares with the audience the world of a person who struggles with herself. A succession of delusions where memories are given a place in an abstract yet theatrical way.
